Thanks to the folks at NORAD, otherwise known as the North American Aerospace Defense Command (yup, that’s the folks that track missiles and space launches) you and your family can track Santa’s flight this Christmas Eve.
How do they track Santa?
It’s pretty cool really, the minute their radar alerts them that Santa has taken off, their satellite system kicks in tracking the infared light of Rudolph’s nose. They also use special SantaCams that snap pix of Santa and his reindeer as they travel across the North American sky. My kids LOVE it every year!
There are also songs, games, movies, and more on NORAD’s website.
Keep in mind though, NORAD tracks Santa, but only Santa knows his route, so they can’t say exactly when he’ll be at any specific house. However, they have noticed that he only arrives after children are asleep! If children are still awake when Santa arrives, he moves on to other houses. He will return…but only when the kids are asleep!
