On the 4th Friday of every month from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge welcomes kids ages 2 to 5 year olds; siblings welcome to their Refuge Fledglings Hour–a free nature program for kids. Refuge staff lead the nature-themed program series that includes crafts, stories, and games or songs that relate to a different topic each month. Check the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge facebook page for up to date information. The program is held at the Visitor Center.
The next program is April 22nd at 10:30 am.
The Friends of the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge is a non-profit organization of dedicated and conservation-minded volunteers who work with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Eastern Massachusetts National Wildlife Refuge Complex to protect and enhance the refuge’s flora and fauna. Through stewardship activities, education and outreach programs, Friends work to ensure these valuable resources are available for the enjoyment and education of present and future generations.
